Lions Club of Kathmandu Bihani Planted 100 Saplings at Banyatar

Kathmandu, July 2 —
On the occasion of the Bagmati Cleaning Mega Campaign entering its 13th year, the initiative has launched an ambitious nationwide drive to plant 13,000 saplings, aiming to promote environmental sustainability and raise public awareness about conservation.

As part of this effort, the Lions Club of Kathmandu Bihani organized a special plantation program at Banyatar Height in Tokha Municipality, Kathmandu. The event saw the planting of around 100 saplings of various species, contributing to the greener future of the area.

The program was conducted under the leadership of club president Chandani Acharya. It brought together club officials, local residents, ward member Kamala Pandey, Bagmati area chairperson Bachan Khadka, Balidan movie director Santosh Sen, artist Prem Puri and his team, along with producer and environmental activist Chakra Bahadur Chand.

Organizers emphasized that such initiatives not only beautify local landscapes but also play a vital role in combating climate change and preserving biodiversity, while encouraging active participation from communities and public figures alike.
