Active participation was seen in the ongoing Bagmati Mega Clean-Up Campaign by various organizations and community individuals. The campaign was undertaken by the Lions Club of Kathmandu Resunga led by President Urmila Bishwakarma with a team of 10 members, the Lions Club of Kutumb led by President Anusuyya Shrestha with a team of 10 members, the High-Powered Bagmati Committee led by Khagendra Bista with the staff team of 50 members, Aloknagar Bagmati activist Pramila Poudel, Chairperson of Baneshwor Mahila Paryawaran Pvt. Ltd. Durga Dulal, Dol Raj Poudel, social worker, Hari Gyawali of Jeevan Vigyan, Ram Prasad, Coordinator Sundarighat Bagmati Clean-Up Campaign Chitra Kumar Sunuwar, Chairperson Megh Ale of River Conservation Institute, and Bagmati activists and local people.
The team collected approximately 1.5 metric tonnes of non-biodegradable waste from the Bagmati River and bank at Shankhamul. The waste was collected and taken out by the Kathmandu Metropolitan City Environment Department, Teku. This was the successful conclusion of the 639th week of consecutive Bagmati Mega Clean-Up Campaign.
