The monsoon season challenges our cleanup efforts, but it also shows why this work matters most — to keep drains and riverbanks clear and protect communities. Heavy rains wash plastic and debris into the river, increasing pollution risks downstream. Along with the clean-up program,We have started to do plantation near the riverbank. So, the river can return to its original state.
This week, we targeted the busy urban stretch of Tinkune–Baneshwor, where plastic waste and debris quickly pile up and risk flowing into the Bagmati river. The area has unmanaged roadside waste. Timely intervention prevents blockages and flooding.
Even during heavy rain, our team continued collection, plantation and awareness activities, proving that small, regular efforts create lasting impact. Every piece of plastic kept out of the river helps protect the Bagmati ecosystem and the health of thousands living along its banks. Together, we’re building a cleaner, greener future.
