Bagmati Clean-Up Mega Campaign enters its 13th Year! 

Marking 12 years of unwavering commitment to a cleaner, greener Nepal, the Bagmati Clean-Up Mega Campaign celebrated its 13th year with a special program at Ananda Pashupati, Kathmandu.

The event was inaugurated by Hon. Minister for Forest and Environment, Mr. Ain Bahadur Shahi, by planting a Peepal and Banyan sapling along the Bagmati riverbank — officially launching this year’s goal to plant 13,000 trees!

Activists shared the journey, goals, and achievements of this citizen-driven movement.

Actress Suhana Thapa and Hon. MP Kusum Devi Thapa expressed strong support, highlighting the role of arts and cooperatives in environmental advocacy.
Minister Shahi honored 13 participants with tree coupons and pledged 13,000 saplings from the ministry to support the campaign.

This long-standing initiative continues to set an example for environmental action, policy collaboration, and public awareness.
