642nd Bagmati Cleanliness Mega Campaign Removes 3 Metric Tons of Waste from Shankhamul

The 642nd “Bagmati Cleanliness Mega Campaign” was also successfully carried out in Shankhamul, Kathmandu on Saturday under the slogan banner of “Two hours of volunteer service for the nation every week.”

The event was sponsored by Bagmati River Cleanup Committee and reported by key figures such as Prakash Aryal, head of the empowered Bagmati Committee during the event, Dr. Baburam Gautam (Founder President of Kathmandu Namaste Spring Lions Club and erstwhile President of Kanti Bal Hospital), Vice President Prof. Dr. Vishnu Khanal, and several other officials and Bagmati activists.

Around 45 volunteers and workers participated in the campaign, gathering nearly 3 metric tons of non-biodegradable trash from Bagmati River banks. The trash was later sorted and disposed of by the Kathmandu Metropolitan Environment Department with their vehicles.

The organizers expressed their gratitude to all the participants and reasserted their determination to continue the campaign of cleaning up to make the Bagmati River beautiful and pure.
