Before the Bagmati Cleanup Mega Campaign, the river faced severe pollution, impacting both the environment and public spaces. This campaign was initiated to tackle the dire condition of the river, which had become a symbol of ecological neglect.

- Over 6,500 trees and plants of various species have been planted along the riverbanks. These areas now bear fruit-bearing plants and greenery that symbolize the success of ecological restoration efforts.
Public Land Reclamation & Protection
- Due to the pressure and leadership of the campaign, many illegally encroached public lands along the river have been reclaimed by the government. The campaign's influence has also prompted agencies to protect archaeological and heritage sites.
Development of Eco-friendly Public Spaces
- Several government and non-government agencies have been prompted to fulfill their social responsibility by constructing over three dozen parks along the riverbanks, making them increasingly eco-friendly and accessible public spaces.

- The campaign is completely volunteer-driven and operates without any financial transactions, donations, bank accounts, or formal committee. It is not linked to any government project or budget, representing a sustainable model of civic engagement that even millions of rupees in government expenditure might not have achieved alone.
